Welcome to our Society which researches and records information on the local history in the parishes of Great and Little Ayton. We make this information available to a wider audience through public presentations and exhibitions, guided walks and publications. We meet every alternate Wednesday from 9:30am in the Friends’ Meeting House on High Green and all are welcome to join us to discover more.

The Society has evolved from the Great Ayton Community Archaeology Project which began in 2001. At a public meeting, called by Dan O’Sullivan (author of ‘Great Ayton, a history of the village’), it was agreed to set up two groups.
